405 Square Feet

Tuesday, January 10, 2023 – Day 21

“You’re going to be gone how long?!” (Answer – 142 days)

“Are you on the same ship, in the same room for all that time?!” (Answer – Yup! Well, we spent a few days in a hotel before boarding)

You may think we are a little nuts, and while this may be true, we are oh so blessed to have this opportunity and we have an amazing ship on which to enjoy this adventure! I thought you might be curious about our living quarters for the next 121 days. They are beautiful! Our cabin is 405 square feet, including a lovely balcony. We aren’t going to be throwing any large parties or running laps on the balcony, but it is enough space to keep us from throwing the other overboard, although that remains to be seen!

Let me show you around…

Our ‘sitting room’.
We can pull the curtain across the space, turn on a light and not bother the other person sleeping – a very necessary space for us

Viking likes to say their passengers ‘explore the world in comfort’ and that is certainly true! The staff is very attentive, but not overly solicitous, and we are treated like royalty. As our time at sea goes on, I’ll show you around the ship. But for now, Jeff is off to learn about early explorations of the South Pacific and I’m off to learn more about the game of Bridge.

We have partly cloudy skies and a rocking and rolling ship, but I think a walk on deck will be possible this afternoon. Hoping those at home are drying out before the next storm comes ashore.

Stay well dear friends!
